Slowpoke tracks a tragedy
The Georgia Straight online, June 13, 2013

"...Fortunately, there is that one exquisite element: Beverly Dobrinsky plays the hurdy-gurdy and sings. In the score she has created, Dobrinsky combines traditional Ukrainian songs with associative soundscapes, and the results are haunting. Listening to her pure, powerful voice, which she ornaments with yips, moans, and laughter, you hear Chernobyl's tragedy: the breaking of the chain of centuries of human habitation in a landscape that has been rendered unlivable for 20,000 years."
